In the beginning was the Word

  1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
  2. It was in the beginning with God
  3. Everything was done by her, and without him was not one of the things created was made.
  4. In him was life, and life was the light of men.
  5. And the light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not captivated.
  6. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He
  7. came as a witness, to testify to the light.
  8. He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light, so that all might believe through him.
  9. Light, the true, that enlightens every man was in the world.
  10. The Word was in the world and the world was created by him, but the world knew her not.
  11. was in his own home and not received.
  12. But how many received him, gave power to become children of God, the believers in his name, which
  13. , not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man but by God they were born .
  14. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth, and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father.
  15. John's has testified, and cried, dicenndo: "He was the one to whom I will say: 'He who comes after me has been put before me because he existed before me,"
  16. fact is the abundance of Him, that we all received grace upon grace.
  17. It was the law given by Moses, Jesus Christ, however, was made the grace and truth.
  18. No one has ever seen God the Only God, who is in the bosom of the Father, he himself has made known there.

    1. The word translates the Latin word "verbum" and the greek "logos", which are more pregnant with meaning, in fact, are to indicate the principle of the rational world, the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father.
